Keyser High School Wrestling was initiated in 1953 by the late-great Joe Stanislawczyk. There have been five head coaches in fifty two years: Coach Stanislawcyzk 1953-1968, Coach Jim Thompson 1968-1977, State of West Virginia Hall of Fame Coach Joe Altobello 1978-2000, Coach Cary Kyle 2001-2007, and Coach Colin Rotruck 2008-Present.
Keyser was team state runner-up in 1961 and has won region titles in 1976, 1977, 2005, 2010, 2013, 2014 and 2015. Keyser has had nine individual state champions and numerous state runners-up as well as many all-state wrestlers in its history as well. Keyser High School Wrestling is fed by the Keyser Storm Mat Club.
