WSAZ New Comers 2020

In the past, there has been discussions about small schools being too small to enter the WSAZ. There has also been dialogue about travel distance.

The following new comer Single A WV schools are listed as attending the WSAZ:

Moorefield
Cameron
South Harrison

Regarding distance, the is a school from New Jersey listed as attending.

I’m with you bear. WSAZ should be in a position that it has to turn away teams wanting in. Some teams will blame cost, distance, team readiness, desire to protect records, a variety of reasons. Whatever the coaches and team think will get them ready is most important I guess but i remember a few years again when a kid had a great record but had not wrestled anywhere and his dad was complaining about being overlooked and disrespected by the rankings. Kid laid an egg at the state tournament and daddy was silencioso for a while.
I’m not being critical of a coach’s decision to skip wsaz, I just personally don’t understand it.
