Madonna! Wow!!!

Not the anti-America singer, but the high school wrestling team. Wow!!!!! They were within 1 1/2 points of East Fairmont today at the Williamstown Rumble.

These two will be fighting it out in region 1 in three weeks.

The region 1 tournament is going to be a true battle but it looks like East was missing at least 4 starters. I didn't see their regular 132,138,145, and 160 lb wrestlers.

Lusher making the move to 113 broke up the murderers row and stole some team points from East. Of course you won't see it at the regions but one move like that can really tighten things up at the state tournament! I still think East gets runner up at the big dance but the pill drop can play a major roll as well all know. Congrats to Madonna and best of luck in Huntington!

There also was an upset at 132. Alec Cook from Madonna (4th rank) beat Hunter Taylor from Independence (2nd rank) 4-2.

Cook is on a roll, was the 4th seed when he won the OVAC Tourney too!!

I never had a doubt that Alec would make it to the finals. He has grown a great deal as a wrestler. Shout out to Denny! I called it. Great job Alec!
