Winfield - Retention Bonus

Based on my records, Winfield had four wrestlers due back that qualified for the 2016 state tournament.

It appears that all four (100%) are back on the mat this season. GREAT JOB!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Winfield has been trending in the right direction. The move down to double A surely will help. Winfield simply cannot compete with the big boys in triple A. The next 2 years could be Winfields best wrestling years.

Thank you. We have been working hard to get wrestling respectable at Winfield. The AA Region 4 won't be easy but it won't be the grinder that AAA Region 4 will be.

What grade is Hale at 195?

Hale is a junior this year. Great kid with outstanding work ethic. I look for him to go far this year.

In 2013 Winfield finished 9th at states AAA. It seems they have been very competitive in AAA. I am sure the kids and coaches there will work hard but I believe the pool of wrestlers in A/AA is much larger than AAA. I do not believe moving to AA made things a great deal easier.

I do agree getting out of AAA Region 4 is a benefit for WHS.

I recall Winfield having a Hale a couple of years ago that showed some promise. I do not recall seeing him last season. This might be the same guy but then again, what in the Hale do I know.
