SMHS ALUMNI TOURNAMENT

Saint Marys High School is still looking for teams to participate in our 3rd annual Alumni Tournament this year. Teams committed for this year's tournament are:

3. FRANKFORT

4. DODDRIDGE

5. HUNTINGTON JV

6. FORTE FRYE OH

7. CLAY BATTIELLE

8. WAHAMA

9. MARIETTA OH

10. PARKERSBURG SOUTH JV

11. LINCOLN COUNTY

We'd still like to have a few more. I'm still waiting back to hear from several schools that I've spoken with. It will be a well run tournament and we take a lot of pride in how we do things. We have a free breakfast for the kids, 2nd to none hospitality room, t-shirt vendor, etc. We try to send kids home with something more than a 10 cent ribbon. We also will be honoring a former wrestling alumnist of Saint Marys High School which will be released at a later date. Those of you that have been here before, know we do it right!

Don't ruin all of he surprises but can you give some of the matchups at this tournament? This is a neat idea and kudos to the old guys who stepped forward. It is great that alumni from all of these schools will be wrestling against each other. Hope some of the retired coaches will come along to coach their former wrestlers. Are there age cutoffs? I don't think it would be fair for a 19 year old alum to wrestle against a 60 year old alum. When it says jv alumni are coming are the jv alumni still eligible even if they wrestled some varsity before they graduated? Sorry for all the questions Mason County has done this with the open down here for years and I think it is a neat that st marys is starting one too.

There will be no alumni wrestling at this tournament, unless its in the parking lot. We honor alumni from SMHS every year at this tournament. While it is a nice idea ZZChoseTop, I highly doubt that would fly with the SAC office, nor our insurance company.
