Im not sure who would win but it would be worth the price of admission. Martin vs Whorton, Humphreys vs Moore, Ritchie vs Jones, and Allman vs Adams are just a few of the big matches I would love to see.

Humphreys def. Moore 1-0 earlier in the season an Adams def. Allman 4-1 in a match also, not sure if any of the others have wrestled each other

Whorton vs Spencer 2-1
Martin vs Spencer 13-3

I think Martin wins at 113. But it would be fun to watch. Maybe next year.

The 145 AA/A state champion was Kuhn from North Marion, not Cox. He wrestled 152.

Whorton and Spencer wrestled twice this year the first being at winners choice. Whorton won that one 13-2. Spencer made some good adjustments, that's what good coaches and wrestlers do! Martin and Whorton would be worth the price of admission!!!!

Cox moved up to 152 as a challenge to himself and his coaches. Will makes 138 easily if he wants. I'm sure for a AA be AAA dual will wouldn't mind gaining a couple pounds and wrestling 145

Your right but in throwing together a AA vs AAA challenge, I'm sure coach Warden and coach Archer would want the best talent at the best weights. Fantasy wv wrestling lineup so to speak. Would love to see this event come together. Could have a north vs south 5th grade and under dual, a north vs south 6th to 8th grade dual, and a AA vs AAA high school dual and pack the house.

106: laya by major
113: Martin dec. 5-3
120: Moore 3-1 OT
126: Henson TF
132: Donahue dec. 9-2
138: Simpkins dec. 5-2
145: Tenney 11-3
152: Whitemore 1-0 decision
160: Jones 3-2 decision
170 Hart 8-2 Decision
182: Safford 4-3 decision
195: Adams 3-1 decision
220: Daniels 7-5 decision
285: I don't know much about either. So a toss up
It would be iconic if West Virginia would finally end the annual double A, Tripe A argument. You filter out the best from the best with a dual like this. What's stopping it?

"What's stopping it?" is certainly a good question. I'm pretty sure people have tried to make this dual happen before and it's the athletes who aren't interested. Either because they don't want to make weight again or because they've got the "validity" of their state titles on the line. In my opinion any state title is valid, but I'm just trying to explain the logic that could possibly be preventing this from happening.
Ah you think WVmat is your ally? You merely adopted the forum. I was born in it, molded by it. I didn't see actual wrestling until I was already a man, by then it was nothing to me but blinding!

I have to agree with most of the predictions. However, I would also like to see the Whorton / Martin match. I do not see the match going in Martins favor in this one. Whorton too technical.....

Also, for the gentleman that picked Whitmore over Michael......Let me start by saying that Adam is a very good wrestler. However, they did meet at the army national guard duals a year or so ago and Michael won the match 4-0. 1 -take down 1 - reversal.

If I'm not mistaken, That's Adams only in state loss for a couple years. Michael wins again....just my opinion. :)

Probably agree with you on the Michael/Whitmore match. Disagree with the Whorton/Martin match. Martin too good on his feet.....

Dang snow-out on the Z tournament anyway! We could have witnessed several good matches that could have answered some of these questions!

There is a 0% chance that Hart beats Johnson again let alone beats him 8-2.

One division/one state champion and this silly yearly debate ends.

Hart is a very hard worker and talented wrestler. He improves each time he wrestles. He's also turning the corner on another level. I think he hammers Johnson the 2nd time around

14 weight classes.

Forget all of them.

From a fan entertainment perspective, Hart vs Johnson 14 times in a row would be incredible.

I would also like to see Will Cox and Lucas Simpkins 14 times too.
Holy smokes. Braxton Amos works out with a landmine now!!!!!!

In regards to the HWT having a dual AAA/A. It happened today at the NHSCA in the Freshman Championship round. It is not the first time Cales and Haga bumped heads. In 2014-2015 Cales won against Haga once at the Mountain State Clash and Junior States. Cales once again came out on top with a 3-2 victory over Haga for the 2016 NHSCA Freshman CHAMPION! Congratulations Cales on your first National title and state title as well. Looking to watching both of these fine athletes over the next 3 yrs.
