Does he have head coach or assistant coach coaching experience? Proven recruiter? Business man, yes. I'd think he would be a big risk.

I'm hearing rumors of Zac Esposito an OSU assistant.

Supposedly Roselli from tOSU and the younger Sanderson from PSU have interviewed. Luck is being very careful with this one and knows the importance of the correct hire.

Luck is saying nothing beyond that the interviews are happening currently. I've seen one of the cover letters/resumes and it does come from Happy Valley.

I'm not a big fan of Cody. Im sure that he has learned a lot from his brother, but if it wasn't for who his brother is, would he be where he is right now? I don't think so, and if it wasn't for his brother, I don't think anyone would be considering him right now. I do like Esposito... Has the Blair connection, worked with Smith for 10 years. Would really like to see him come if interested.

I also heard Roselli and Sanderson. I have no problem with either one. I think I mentioned Cody in an earlier thread and was sort of blown off. LOL . Roselli would be an outstanding choice.

Seems odd that ASU filled their position in about a week and we seem to be dragging our feet. Its been over three weeks and still no new coach.

From what I heard, there are quite a few interested candidates and OL wants to make the correct hire. The fuss made by CT is probably not making it easy to proceed without using extreme caution. But, I agree, an announcement needs to be made soon.

What's the holdup, enough already, who ever gets the coaching job is gonna be behind the 8ball already with recruiting. Does it really matter though, WVU will never be competitive in the big 12. So sad but so very very true. :(

Well the names that were first brought up are accepting other jobs. If he wants to be big time his list of candidates is shrinking quickly. I get the feeling like theres about three kids left for kickball and you don't want to just be the last one standing. :x

It's like the Cleveland Browns and their search for a head coach. If you wait long enough, your choices narrow! Good coaches are not waiting for Luck to make up his mind!

I read where the WVU wrestling banquet was today, so perhaps decisions were held back until that was over. I agree about Rosselli being a great candidate. I know Ohio State does not want to lose him!!

Do we know if Coach Turnbull attended the banquet? All the quotes came from Greg Jones.

Don't leave out Hughes from Lehigh. There are only five D1 teams that have produced more All-Americans in the last four years. They have had top recruiting teams in the last four years as well. WVU needs a good recruiter.

Well, it has been a month today since it was announced that Turnbull would not be back. Hope to hear something real soon. Need to make a splash with this new hire.

As a long time West Virginia fan (since the day I was born) I believe this hire is going to be the one that either makes or breaks the program. I was born and raised in West Virginia, wrestled all the way from the time I was little till I graduated from Herbert Hoover High School in 02. I attend the NCAA Division 1 wrestling tournament every year and if you ask me there is only one guy who West Virginia should be looking at and that's Sammie "THE BULL" Henson. I believe he is the right fit for a couple of big reasons. 1. Henson is a proven winner. Every where he goes his athletes have success. It's proven at every place he has ever been. 2. He is still highly regarded as one of the best coaches on the international level. I mean the guy is the head coach of sunkist wrestling! That right there not only helps in recruiting but it also would help in bringing big named wrestlers to train with our athletes. But the biggest reason I think we need to hire Henson is because nobody else's style better represents the state of West Virginia than him. We are a tough, hard working, hard nosed, group of people and if you've ever watched any of Sammie Hensons guys wrestle you would know that they are hard nosed, in your face for 7 minutes, wear you down type of wrestlers. This is what our guys need! Overall I think all of the guys we have mentioned on here are great but if I had my choice I would choose The Bull to take over our program.
