The 29th Annual Boardman Open is Sunday, March 18th! While this is an individual tournament in which any wrestler may compete, for the first time the top four teams will be receiving $1000 back in donations from Ohioquest Wrestling as follows:
1st place: $500
2nd place: $250
3rd place: $150
4th place $100
You read that right- this is not a typo, but rather a new event format that all Ohioquest Tournaments are in the process of changing over to! The top four teams will receive checks at the end of the event.
Tournaments at Boardman have become truly second to none over the past decade, consistently drawing 300-500 wrestlers from not only all over Northeast Ohio, but also Pennsylvania, West Virginia and many other states. As many as seven states have been represented at a single tournament!
The Boardman Open is truly for everyone, featuring Youth Open, Rookie, Middle School, High School and Masters Divisions. Note that wrestlers in the Rookie Division will also score points toward the team race. However, wrestlers in the Youth Open (including Middle School) will have their points weighted double. The Rookie Division is for 1st and 2nd year wrestlers only. High School and Masters are not part of the team race since their wrestlers are not really affiliated with the youth teams.

See you on Sunday!
