In looking at the 2016 AAA regional/state tournament process for 113, the following was uncovered within the oasis of information buried in the scores section:
Region 1:
Before the regional tournament (BRT), region 1 had 6 ranked wrestlers. Only 3 qualified. One missed weight. Two got beat out. The unranked qualifier had a very good record and should have been ranked.
Region 2: BRT, region 2 had zero ranked wrestlers. One of the four qualifiers had a 8 - 28 record.
Region 3: BRT, region 3 had two ranked wrestlers. One qualifier had a record of 18 - 19.
Region 4: BRT, region 4 had 2 ranked wrestlers. There were only four wrestlers in total. Only the champion had a winning record.

I am confused as to what your getting at. I see that several qualifiers has losing records (ironic that 3 of 4 qualifiers from region 4 had losing records with one losing more than twice as many as he won). Is that your point? I am missing it. Help me out here.

I think the point is that you can't predict injuries, which is what I believe happened in Region 4 at 113, and you can't predict exactly how anyone will do based on their ranking or record? Just a guess

Isn't the point that no matter what happened, two of the ranked wrestlers in region 1 were not going to the state tournament while he pointed out who did get to go by citing the records of those (? deserving) particular qualifiers.
Oh shoot, I forgot that rankings have absolutely no meaning and then there's that thing about cream or something. My bad.

Look at rankings and weight classes 132;138; 145 and 152; Region 4 AAA
Then look at the other regions in those weight classes.

I've looked at all those weights too. They are all stacked. I was just commenting on the 113 class that Bearhugger mentioned.

I am looking forward to the region 4 fourth placers meeting the other regional champions. Should be some competitive matches for Thursday night.

I had someone point it out to me how much easier it is for a wrestler to make it to the states in AAA compared to A/AA. Just due to the number of schools and wrestlers in A/AA compared to AAA. After hearing him for a few minutes I pointed out region 4 or maybe region 1 which ever. Region it is that we need jv wrestlers in so lesser wrestlers in other regions can't punch thier ticket to the states.
