Wheeling Jesuit Wrestling Drops National Championship Match to St. Cloud St.

This past week, our program took another big step towards our goal of winning a national championship. The team knocked off #8 Findlay, #3 Maryville and #21 Colorado State Pueblo in route to the national championship match, where we fell to 2x defending NCAA Champion St. Cloud State. We're proud and excited to represent our great state on the biggest stage of Division II wrestling.
West Virginia wrestlers Nate Starkey (Ripley) and Terrance Fanning (Preston County) started every match for the Cardinals and contributed greatly to the teams 2nd in the country finish. Brandon Tenney (Buchannon Upshur) and Logan Bowman (East Fairmont) were also part of the group of 15 that weighed in at the event.
We continue to seek out individuals from our great state that fit our program's goals on and off the mat. This year we've already added Jared Donahue (Parkersburg) and can't wait for Jared to join our family this coming August.
