…. being tossed around in the WV legislature . Apparently it has passed the Senate easily but needs to clear a few other hurdles. Essentially this Bill would allow HS students to transfer at anytime during their 4 years without the penalty of losing a year of eligibility. The WVSSAC opposes the Bill… hmmmmm

Students/athletes are transferring now anytime they want to. Unfortunately, there are numerous loopholes in the rules. The WVSSAC will not spend the money to fight an athlete's transfer. So why does there need to be a Senate Bill? The WV House and Senate must not have more important things to deal with during the legislative session.

Wow , I guess I was unaware just how “ willy-nilly “ these transfers were occurring and in such great numbers too?

I look at it as a “consumer choice” issue. The student is the customer. The school system is the seller.
Provide a good product and no one will leave. Provide a poor product, and the consumer (student) should be allowed to shop elsewhere without being penalized. No school system owns the “rights” to any student.
