2021 Appalachian Fasteners Invitational

Shady Spring High School will be hosting the 2021 Appalachian Fasteners Invitational on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at Shady Spring High School. Weigh-ins will be from 7:00 AM - 8:00 AM, the seeding meeting from 8:00 AM - 9:00 AM, and wrestling will begin at 9:00 AM. Rosters including records, previous state placements, and head to head results will be due Tuesday 2/2/21 by 9:00 PM for pre-seeding. JV will be permitted at no charge if there are openings I will notify coaches on Thursday which JV we had room for. Wrestling will be done on 4 mats in two adjacent gyms. Only short breaks to allow the officials and coaches to eat will be taken. From 2018 thru 2020 the finals have been completed and all teams were on their way home by 7 PM. If needed pigtails will be used. (If a pigtailed wrestler loses in the first round and wrestles back to the consolation final round he/she may be forced to forfeit due to WVSSAC rules of only 5 matches in a day)

The entry fee is $175.00 with a check required at weigh in made payable to: Shady Spring High School Wrestling. This will be a double elimination 16 wrestler bracket format. A hospitality room will be provided and affordable concessions will also be available. We would like to have 18-19 teams in order to fill the brackets

Trophies will be awarded for: Individual First, Second, and Third, First and Second Place Team, and Outstanding Wrestler.

The 2020 Appalachian Fasteners Invitational had (18) WSAZ place finishers, (6) state champions, (27) top 6 state place finishers, and (80) state qualifiers from 3 states competing.
