To get a jump start on next season I wanted to get the word out that the 10th Annual Ed Cressel Classic will be taking place on January 8-9, 2021 at Virginia High School. This year we hosted 39 teams from 5 different states and had an amazing tournament with some tough competition. Next season we are looking to open the tournament even more and add an additional 2 mats in our auxiliary gym. We will allow teams to enter all backups and run the tournament as 64 man brackets if necessary. We run a great tournament, keep things running smoothly, and we get things done as quickly as we possibly. We also have great facilities and a top notch coaches hospitality. Results for this past year's tournament can be found at trackwrestling.com. If you have any questions feel free to contact me at jshuler@bvps.org.
Thanks,
Josh Shuler

We have added Dobyns Bennett (TN) and Ravenswood (WV) to the 10th Annual Ed Cressel Classic. That makes 41 total teams and next year is shaping up to be another epic tournament.

I heard from some WV teams about how organized the Ed Cressel Classic was. I also like how you guys appear to aggressively load up that tournament with teams above and beyond the traditional bracket limit.
I strongly suggest teams in your network take a glance at and consider the WSAZ in WV.
Next Year’s WSAZ will be January 29-30, 2021

Thank you for the comment! Yes we are trying to grow this into a top level tournament. We definitely want to bring national recognition to this tournament and bring a level of wrestling rarely seen in Southwest Virginia. I've heard great things about WSAZ and will definitely pass the word around. We would love to attract more West Virginia teams and even make our way into Ohio and Pennsylvania. Feel free to pass the word along to other WV teams.

You are doing an obvious great job in promoting and building your event. I have noticed over the past few seasons that WV teams RETURN to your event. NEW WV teams join in. Although I didn't raise the subject, I had a group of WV parents praise your event. Good luck!!!
