35th Annual
Max Horz Invitational “Border Wars”
December 13 & 14, 2019

The Max Horz Invitational, in its 35th year, would like to invite you to our annual event.

All participating teams from 2018 have been invited back for 2019. In addition we are extending an invitation to your high school to join this year’s tournament. We are also allowing teams to enter their B team wrestlers as well. The 2018 tournament drew 17 teams representing three states. I believe we will assemble a very competitive field that will feature some outstanding high school wrestling for the 2019 Tournament. Our goal is to build the Max Horz to a 32 man double elimination bracketed tournament and make it once again one of the toughest tournaments in West Virginia.

AWARDS: The top two teams will receive plaques. First through third place will receive a championship plaques, fourth-sixth place finishers in each weight class will receive will receive a medal. Most Outstanding Wrestler Awards for 106-145 and 152-HWT.

You will be sent a tentative time schedule and a list of participating teams at a later date. Right now we plan to start weigh-ins at 12:00 PM on Friday, December 13, 2019. We plan to start wrestling at 1:30 PM on Friday, December 13. Weigh in’s will be at 8:00 AM on Saturday, December 14 with wrestling starting at 9:30 AM.
