WV Classification Future

Postby Bearhugger » Fri Mar 01, 2019 2:56 pm

Let me begin by seeking clarity as to when the next AAA/AA/A classification is scheduled. Before 2019/2020 or before 2020/2021?

In addition, we began the season talking about the proposed big and small urban and rural classifications. That seemed to die down.

The new "word on the street" is going to classifications of AAAA, AAA, AA and A. The new state wrestling tournament would be AAAA and AAA combined and then AA and A combined.

All of the above is hear say.

Another development is Fayetteville is closing and the students are going to Oak Hill, which will obviously bump Oak Hill up but would stay at AA until the next reclassification.

Input? Clarity? Thoughts?
Holy smokes. Braxton Amos works out with a landmine now!!!!!!

Copied from another website
The spreadsheet attached is based on the enrollment of 2015 (current enrollment number) and data from the 2010 census adjusted for 2016.

Your score is based on 4 factors.

1. Enrollment is 70% of each school\'s score.
2. Proximity to county seat is 10%.
3. Proximity to a city of 10,000 is 10%
4. County average household income and each school\'s direct certified.

If this is true then that would be a rather sorry AA/A state tournament.
