Amazing isn't it that Huntington has gotten 7 state championships Grass 3, Allen 3 and Lanham 1 out of Milton's program and ... Milton is the feeder for Cabel Midlands. ... Just sayin'

Unfortunately Huntington isn't the only school doing this. Hats off for a couple young men staying home and winning the "A" championship for Wirt County.

I would say that reflects more on CM high school then it does on the middle school...Just sayin.

I did not see his comments as reflecting on Milton's program in a negative way, at least I hope not. I think he was saying that there does not seem to be the continuity of coaching staffs at Cabell Midland and the kids do not come out or stay out. I was in a position to know if any rampant recruiting was going on and I did not see that at all. In all modesty, I do think if the Milton teams of 2008-2012 had all gone to the same school ,add in some well coached and excellent wrestlers from the Barboursville program ( some of those went to Huntington as well) and all or most kept wrestling, they would have been at least contending every year. I do not see his comments as pointing fingers at anyone, just wondering what might have been.

Somebody correct me if I'm wrong, in the last 10 years Cabell Midland has had at least 5 different head coaches. It's hard to build a program or expect kids to attend when they see that.

That is what I meant about the continuity of the staff, and you are spot on. Next season will bring another change from what was posted on this forum today. I hope some of the young coaches will step up and be in it for more than a year or two.
