Girls Tournaments in WV

As many of you know, we are pushing to sanction Girls Wrestling in WV. We need to show the WVSSAC that there is a true interest in the sport. In order to do this, we need high schools to have girls only teams this season. I would like to put together a list of duals, tris, quads, and tournaments that are being offered so the girls can have a nice schedule. The WVSSAC is putting on a WV Girls State Invitational held in Huntington this year where individual state winners will be honored. If you are planning to host a girls only tournament this year, please comment dates below. Attached is a list of tournaments that were offered last year.

Williamstown High School is hoping to host an all girls tournament this season. Looking at possibly Saturday December 30th. Most likely will be at least middle school and high school. Might add peewee depending on total interest. More details will be posted at a later time.

The reason I asked this question is because the South Wrestling facebook page has this listed as an event on the girls wrestling schedule. I did not think this was a girls event.

It is on South’s Girls schedule because it’s a home event. The girls will be there for support of the varsity team as they qualify for the state tournament. There is no regional qualifier for the girls.
