Just off the top of my head, 113 Hodges- Grafton, 120 Skaggs-Grafton, 152 Mitchell-LC, 170 Braxton, 220 Summers-Bridgeport, 285 Ware- Grafton. Other weights I’m not sure as two or more people could make a run.

Just curious what everyone thinks here. I will post mine after I look at who is in each class.

Had all teams been able to attend, there would have been some 113s. Wirt was the only team there with a 113 and they bumped him up to 120 so he would get some mat time.

If this was the RCB/Phillip Barbour match you speak of, Byrd had a 170 injure his back earlier, the 195 injure his shoulder, and the 220 was out as a precaution. This match also happened at a tournament so no way to cancel it. Weigh ins were not wasted I believe P.B. had many other matches that day ...

As far as doddridge and clay battle, having been at the Ritchie tournament, clay battle had 3 or four wrestlers. I don't know about that time. I saw the match at 126 out of the corner of my eye and thought it lasted at least 1 minute.

What about Jacob Biser from Keyser and Corey Fowler from South Harrison(sat out this year but was a state qualifier last year).

I wrestled the brawl my senior year, I was on a Tennessee team but it is a great tournament and Johnson city is an awesome town

There was another girl in region 2 named Charles from Doddridge that was very close to qualifying as well. It would have been neat to have seen two females in the same region qualify for states.

Yes Tennessee is very much ahead of the curve, being from there I know a little bit about it. They have a girls state tournament it started either in late 2000s or early 10s. I think 09 as my sister was going to compete but decided not to and be the boys manager so she wouldn't get hurt for softball...

Sometimes you do the best with what you have. Why does it matter that it was a girl that beat a boy? Why not just say there was one match! Rcb has four wrestlers with one being sick that day, st Mary's has what seemed like a full team and without football would have matched up in all four classes
